I live in Dunfermline, Fife and have just received a similar call with a kind man offering to solve my computing problems.

Perhaps they are moving through the phone book area by area.

I have had a similar experience over the past couple of weeks with a total of 3 calls after I had refused to give them any information on the first two.
On the third call I pointed out that it wasn't possible for them to have MicroSoft error messags from my PC as I was running Linux.

Since then I have heard no more.

Also have had a couple of emails supposedly coming from Virgin Media (my ISP) asking for me to go to a website and "update" my details. I didn't and contacted Virgin Media who said they would never ask for these details. Beware of all messages of this type.

Well done to you and the WSCT for informing the public about the MicroSoft scam. I'm sure that there must be some people that fall into the trap or they wouldn't do it.

Best wishes

The method of hard drive data recovery works by reconstructing the lost data on your computer's hard drive. It does not matter if your files have got deleted accidentally or the result of a computer crash, most of the data can be brought back to life so that they can be accessed and used.

Though most crashes are due to operating system failure, or a virus attack, there are some situations that are due to the hardware failure, such as head crash, actuator arm or platters are not working properly, logical board burning and many others. In such cases, you won't be able to do recover data by yourself; only a specialised data recovery company can help you. (Link removed by Admin)
